That’s a wrap on Nationals and the official end of the 2025 competition season! What an amazing, amazing time we had! I cannot put into words how much fun it was and how many great memories we made. I always talk about how magical it is to see my routines on stage for the first time, but what I don’t say as often is what it’s like to see them for the last time. I see them from a whole different perspective. I’m not looking for what needs to be fixed or improved upon, I’m just looking at the beauty of it. At the growth and progress that has been made throughout the season. At the smiles and pure joy. I see the friendship and the laughter. And I wish I could hold onto it forever. Because the truth is, the end of a season is really very bittersweet. While it’s a time of great pride and accomplishment and a chance to look forward to what is coming next, it’s also a time where I feel a little empty. Where I grieve the ending of these awesome routines we created and the departure of yet another set of seniors. Where I wish time would just slow down for a minute. As this season comes to a close, I am feeling so thankful that I get to do something I truly love every single day. That I get to be such a big part of these kids’ lives. That they actually want to hang out with me, even when they don’t have to 😂. That we have the most amazing, supportive, talented dance family that I get to call mine. I love you all so much. Thanks for the laughter, the tears, and everything in between. That’s a wrap on recital 2025! This year was extra special because it was a double anniversary- 55 years in business for CDW and 5 years for me as Owner/Director! And boy, was it one for the books! To Miss Liz, it’s all because of you! Thank you for creating such an amazing place for countless kids & families to call home. Thank you for trusting me to keep your legacy going. I hope I’m making you proud. I love you more than words can say and am forever indebted to you! To my Dancers, you were incredible last night! The joy, passion, smiles, and tears you brought to the stage were a beautiful representation of the amazing season we’ve had together. I love you beyond measure and will always be SO proud of you! To my Seniors, Abby & Ada, you are extraordinary! Your speeches were absolutely beautiful and so heartfelt. Thank you for leaving your hearts on that stage last night. With recital only 5 days away, it’s time for our second & final 2025 Senior Spotlight celebrating senior Abigail Rinaldi! Let’s get to know Abby… 1. How many years have you been dancing? I have been dancing at CDW for 15 years 2. What are your plans for the fall? I am going to Naugatuck Valley Community College 3. What’s your favorite style of dance? Tap!! 4. Out of all the dances you’ve ever been in, which one was your favorite? My last tap dance, Landslide! 5. What is your favorite studio memory? My favorite memory was when everyone sat around in a circle on my birthday and said their favorite memory of me. It was very special knowing that these important people in my life had so many nice and heartwarming things to say about me. 6. What is your favorite competition memory? My favorite competition memory is when we all won first place for Wicked. We all worked so hard to make this production such a special dance that holds lots of emotion and meaning. How many years have you been dancing? 15 years (across two studios) 2. What are your plans for the fall? I am attending Quinnipiac University, double majoring in Finance and International Business in the JD Accelerated Program! 3. What’s your favorite style of dance? Jazz 4. Out of all the dances you’ve ever been in, which one was your favorite? Wicked because I got to see myself as a character I loved and it helped me to love myself too. Oh and I got to wear pink! 5. What is your favorite studio memory? Chatting and laughing at the start of every class 6. What is your favorite competition memory? Every time I got to perform with my friends 7. What advice would you give to younger dancers at the studio? Your dance friends are family, enjoy every moment with them! 8. What will you miss the most about dance? I’m sad to see it come to an end 🥺 This season has been one for the books and I am just so proud of these kids and thankful for their amazing families! It takes a village, and we have the best ❤️ Thank you @reverbcompetition for a fun and amazing weekend! We came home with: ✨3 Diamond Records ✨17 Multi Platinum Records ✨8 Platinum Records ✨1 Gold Record ✨3 judges accent awards ✨1 Convention Scholarship ✨22 category placements ✨17 high score placements (4 being 1st overall!) ✨1 One Beat Stand Out Award (Congrats to “Wicked”)! ✨The Overall Choreography Award for the entire weekend!!!! And another BIG highlight! “Wicked” took home FIRST OVERALL for 13 & up productions!!!! Of the 3 times we performed this routine, this was by far the BEST! It was hard to see through the tears streaming down my face, but it was pure passion on that stage! I am so proud of the teamwork, storytelling, love, and friendship that went into this routine. To my seniors, I am just so incredibly proud of you! You were outstanding! I hope this routine will always hold a special spot in your hearts. Thank you for leaving it all on the stage. Seeing your bond this season has been so magical to watch. And seeing your reactions last night was everything. What an amazing end to the regional season! Full re-cap coming tomorrow, but for now… So excited to say that out of 15 studios in attendance, CDW took home the Overall Choreography Award for the entire weekend!!! Beyond proud of my dancers! My choreography would truly be nothing without them! I love you all so much 💕 Another highlight! Our “Wicked” production took home 1 of the 5 One Beat Standout Awards given for all 13 & up group dances of the entire weekend🩷💚 Outstanding job to all! ❤️👏🏻

The recital theme has been correctly guessed! Congrats Carrie Spooner & fam! Our 2025 recital will be entitled “There’s No Place Like Home” and is based on the Wizard of Oz! As I said, it’s a 3 part theme! Part 1: There’s no place like home. In honor of our anniversary this year, I am bringing back a bunch of old songs that we have done before. Each class is remaking at least one old routine. In this way, we are celebrating CDW’s history, legacy, and the “home” that it has become to us all. I know I’m biased, but there really is no place like it! 🏠 Part 2: Most of the songs this year, both old & new, have something to do with an element of the Wizard of Oz: courage, heart, brains, friendship, magic, home, the munchkins, the Lollipop Guild, witches, rainbows, etc! And of course Wicked, our production, is the pre-story to it all! ❤️🧠💪🏻🌈🧙‍♀️🪄 Part 3: This year marks CDW’s 55th year in business! 55 years is traditionally known as the Emerald Anniversary. What a phenomenal start to our competition season this weekend at WCTE! Saturday was International Women’s Day and what better way to spend it than watching my girls do what they love. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to teach & inspire young girls every single day, to carry on the legacy of one of the strongest women I know who built this studio from the ground up, and to be a Mommy to my own strong, sassy little lady. “Strong women- may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.” May we always know our worth. The inside jokes, the rolling on the floor kind of laughter, the bonding time eating ice cream or singing crazy songs at the top of your lungs, the parents working together (shout out to the crafting corner 😂), the unending love & support that is shown toward each other. That’s what I love the most. Thank you all for an incredible end to the competition season. I can’t wait to see what next year has in store! Well that’s a wrap! Another AMAZING show in the books! A huge thank you to my crew and everyone who helped out behind the scenes. Seriously COULD NOT have done it without you! And of course Miss Liz! I’m so bummed we didn’t get a picture together. But I hope I made you proud. This is all because of you ❤️ And to my dancers, you were fabulous as always! As I said in class and rehearsal, recital should be all about fun. There are no judges, no pressure. Yes I want you to always do your best and give your all, but I also want you to cherish the moments. The giggles, the smiles, the heartfelt hugs, the tears, the silliness…this is the real magic of it all and the things that you will remember the most. Thank you for bringing that to the stage! Your energy & passion were incredible! I love you beyond words and can’t wait to make more memories together! And to my Senior, Isabel, I hope your last recital was everything & more. With tonight being graduation at WHS, I figured it was the perfect day to share this year’s Senior Spotlight for our one & only 2024 Senior! Please join me in congratulating Isabel Pinto!! 🎉🎓 @isabel_p82 Let’s get to know Isabel… 1. How many years have you been dancing? 14 years (12 with CDW) 2. What are your plans for the fall? I’m attending Western New England University and I’m majoring in mechanical engineering. 3. What’s your favorite style of dance? 100000% Tap 4. Out of all the dances you’ve ever been in, which one was your favorite? Looking back on all of my dances, there are a few that really stick out to me. The first one that comes to mind is of course Hot Lunch Jam. Although the dance wasn’t able to be performed as many times as I wished, having the role of the lunch lady really brought up my confidence levels and made me as outgoing as I am today. The next one on the list has to be The Spelling Bee. Again, there were so many ups and downs. Emma, the spelling bee champion, happened to be in a wheelchair for the last competition, but being able to work as a team and seeing our hard work come alive was so rewarding. Lastly, one of my all time favs will always be Beetlejuice. I truly don’t think Miss Lisa could have chosen a better routine for my senior year. I’ve always been a goofy and awkward person, and being able to perform in exactly that way feels like a breath of fresh air. I was able to just be myself. I also loved the opportunity to dance with the younger classes. Getting to know them and see all of their individual personalities really makes me remember what dance is all about. **continued in comments**

What a FABULOUS competition weekend at True Talent! So incredibly proud of my kiddos! Their passion, artistry, and ability to play whatever role I throw at them truly shined this weekend! So many of them stepped outside of their comfort zones, performed in ways that I have never seen before, and received awesome recognition to top it off! And that’s how you start off a comp weekend!!! The Nightmare: 2nd place HIGH GOLD Don’t Stop Believin’: 3rd place PLATINUM, “Fan Favorite” special award, 7th place teen intermediate small group, TRULY TALENTED ROUTINE of the night!! So so proud!!! 🏆🔥💗🖤

What a great start to the competition season! I am so proud of my 16 solo/duo/trio routines who took the stage yesterday! Each and every one of you truly shined! From first time soloists to our graduating senior, you all went out there and danced from the heart. You entertained, you brought us to tears, and you showcased your unique selves in your own special ways. I couldn’t be happier! But more than anything, I love seeing you making more beautiful memories together 💗🖤 We came home with 6 FOUR STAR placements and 10 FIVE STAR placements. Plus 3 judges special awards, a “Brilliant Costume” scroll, a “Life of the Show” scroll, 2 Ambition Convention scholarships, and 7 high score placements (2 being 1st place)! Congratulations to all! ⭐️🏆

And just like that…competition season kicks off today! Best of luck to my 16 solos/duos/trios who are debuting their routines today! Smile big, do your best, and live in the moment. No matter what, I’ll always be your biggest fan! LET’S DO THIS! WORK IT!!! 💗🖤

3rd Annual Holiday Food Drive‼️ I will be collecting items at the studio now through December 18th All items will be donated to the Watertown Food Bank in hopes that we can help local families in need this Christmas and into the new year ❤️ I am asking that each CDW family please bring in 5 items. They can be canned goods, other non-perishable foods, toiletries, etc. Thank you for your help and support 💗🖤
